May 2008, London, UK – For the first time a CASIO digital camera has won one of the highly-acclaimed TIPA awards with the EXILIM Pro EX-F1. The award is for “Best Imaging Innovation in Europe 2008”. The newly developed technology of the EX-F1 allows up to 60 photos a second for still images in full resolution. Thanks to a novel high-speed CMOS sensor and high-speed LSI processor, this high-speed camera is able to record full high definition (full HD) videos* and high-speed movie recording for replay in slow motion with up to 1,200 frames per second. An impressive innovation and technical advance: reason enough for the members of TIPA to award the EXILIM Pro Model with the title of “Best Imaging Innovation in Europe 2008”.
Casio brand manager David Hodgkinson said: “Casio is extremely honoured to receive its first TIPA award. That it comes in the category of "Best Imaging Innovation” for the EXILIM Pro EX-F1 is extremely satisfying as the corporate ethos of making people’s lives easier has always been achieved through the creation of marketing leading technological products. We hope end users will share TIPA and Casio’s excitement at how this products high speed capabilities opens up new ways to capture moments that happen faster than in the blink of an eye.”
This is the 18th year that the Technical Image Press Association has conferred awards on excellent products in the area of photography and imaging. Founded in 1991, TIPA is an independent non-profit association of European photographic and imaging magazines. It has a roll of 27 members from eleven countries and today is one of the largest and most influential associations in the field of photography and imaging in the whole of Europe. Every year, the publishers of the members’ magazines select the winners in the various categories of the European Photo & Imaging Awards. Technical innovations, clever ideas, value for money and user-friendliness are put under the spotlight.
In total, 36 products were given one of the sought-after TIPA awards. The award ceremony is to take place at photokina, the international imaging fair, which will be held in Cologne from 23 to 28 September 2008.
